This website, designed by the Missouri Department of Conservation, is an exceptional resource with broad depth of material in the biological sciences. The material has a wide range of interest and is a valuable educational resource for biologists at all age ranges. This site can be used for teaching and instructional purposes at all levels due to its breadth of focus. The website also has excellent links to other resources in the natural sciences, from resource management to careers in the biological sciences. The Missouri Department of Conservation has designed a website which is compatible with the overall mission of the AAAS Directorate for Education and Human Resources and complements the science, mathematics, and technology education curriculum as informed by research projects such as Project 2061 or the National Science Education Standards. One specific section of the website of special note is the MDC Teacher's Page, which gives instructional ideas for teachers in academia as well as agricultural extension agents, 4-H, FFA, scouting, and librarians. The site also has a Just for Kids section, that is dedicated to teens and pre-teens. Although the primary focus of this site is for the state of Missouri, the site has valuable links to resources, which would be of interest to biology and natural sciences beyond the state of Missouri. I highly recommend this website as a valuable resource for students, teachers, and biologists who need to explore natural sciences and expand their educational resources.

The Missouri Department of Conservation continues to improve and update this site. Look for new resources on the MDC Teacher's Page and new articles and activities in the kids section. You can also find information relative to any state under the Nature heading.
