Zoom Dinosaurs is one of a host of educational websites produced by Enchanted Learning that are aimed at children. This website meets our expectations of excellence in information and interesting presentation. This site is nearly a must-see for teachers, students, and parents. It is extremely well organized and thorough. There are archives of dinosaur drawings (best for elementary- and middle-school levels) and texts on all aspects of the beasts and their behavior, and much more. It is up-to-date. And the text is written at a variety of levels (varying by paragraph) to be worthwhile for all age levels including 9-12. Many of the texts are quite detailed and worth the attention of adults. Sections on dinosaurs in the news and an e-mail "send us your questions" section mean students will want to return to the site frequently. The weakest section is related to curricular application. There are some activities for elementary but not for higher grade levels. Granted that the greatest student interest is in grades 3-6, there are many aspects that could be developed for higher grade levels. However, the vast amount of information in the site reduces this weakness to "foot-note level" in the presence of the great strengths elsewhere. This is the best site I have seen. "Breathtaking" may be stretching it a bit for an adult, but not for the students eager to learn about this ever popular topic. This site is going to be on a lot of "favorites" lists.
