This site has several sections relevant to the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry including the Online Activities section and a Virtual Museum tour. In the Online Activities area, there are four projects, two live video cameras, and a place for students to ask their own questions of the experts. Overall, each of the Projects are very well done and offered information over a broad audience range. In particular, the Millennium Bug project is especially timely and offers useful information for anyone that would like to know more about this trendy media topic. Science Whatzit allows the student to ask a question of the experts and have the answer posted. However, since the website does point out the 2-6 week delay in posting the response, I assume a faster response is also sent back via email. The two live camera feeds will likely be of interest to some students. However, when I visited the site, the Rat camera appeared to be “asleep” and although the Salmon camera did offer live views of the fish swimming, I did not think that it was that educational. I highly recommend this site as a launching point for future online science activities. The links are very good and the site is well maintained.
