Mrs. Glosser’s Math Goodies

Grades - 6-8 9-12

The Math Goodies website is one of the finest sites of this nature I have ever seen or used. All aspects of Junior High/High School Mathematics through Algebra II are included. Lessons are offered and multiple choice questions are provided. Explanations are readily available for all questions. I found the questions challenging and the explanations comprehensive and clear. The site also includes Math Chat, Resources, Downloads, Homework Help, Homeschool Instruction, Puzzles (in the form of word a search, which I myself have used), and Lessons. For the teacher and or parent, there are sections for Books, Resources, and Links. For the teacher, especially a new teacher, areas can be found for Interdisciplinary Studies, Classroom Gems, and Real World Connections. I found the last one of great value because Mathematics teachers are always looking for real-world connections in terms that a student can identify with. This helps answer the old complaints of, “Why do we have to do this?! Does anyone really use it?” and makes it clear that Math is something that is used. In conclusion, let me restate that this is a great site. I plan to use it for myself and with my students. I also am giving the site address to all the math teachers in my department. There is definitely something for everyone concerned with mathematics (i.e., students, parents, and teachers) in this terrific site.
