Target Audience
Grades -   K-2   3-5   6-8   9-12

An outgrowth of the Geometry Forum project, the Math Forum is a Center for Math Education on the Internet. Its stated goal is “to build a community that can be a center for teachers, students, researchers, parents, educators, and citizens at all levels who have an interest in mathematics education.” Simply put, it is a mathematics gold mine. Got a question about math? Go to “Ask Dr. Math”. Need a problem to interest your students? Go to the Projects Section, where you will find a Problem of the Week for elementary and middle-school students and for geometry classes. There is also a Geometry Project of the Month. There are also pages for college students at both the undergraduate and the graduate level. An online exhibit, Symmetry and Pattern: The Art of Oriental Carpets, is available as a joint project with The Textile Museum. There is an Internet Geometry Hunt, with questions about math and mathematicians, and the answers can be found on the Internet. There is an Internet math resource collection (database) called Steve’s Dump, which helps guide you through the overwhelming amount of math stuff available on the Internet. There are also discussion groups on many aspects of mathematics and mathematics education. One of my personal favorite pages is the Dynamic Geometry Software page, from which you can download a sample of the software and a sample construction. It also has a connection to a discussion group on dynamic geometry. If you’re looking for geometry newsgroups, Internet software, learning and math discussions, the Geometry Forum Newsletter, workshop information, projects, and archives, look no further—it’s all here.
