The Science NetLinks team is looking forward to more sunshine and warmer weather. We hope you enjoy the new season and these three resources for your classroom.
Alcohol Education Survey
We invite you to take part in the Science NetLinks Alcohol Education Survey for middle school teachers. This brief survey, part of the Science Inside Alcohol Project, asks about teaching the science of alcohol and alcohol abuse. This information will be extremely helpful in the development of effective materials for a variety of instructional settings. We really appreciate your time and feedback!
Women's History Month Teaching Resources
Celebrate Women's History Month in your classroom this March!
Consider using this collection of Science NetLinks and AAAS resources that will help your class honor and highlight the scientific work of women. Students can contrast the careers of two women involved in medical research 150 years apart, learn about Marie Curie's Nobel Prize winning discoveries in physics and chemistry, and explore 4,000 years of women's contributions to science.
NSTA National Conference on Science Education
The National Science Teachers Association (NSTA) is "Celebrating the Year of Science ... Laissez les Bon Temps Rouler!" in New Orleans, March 19-22. The 2009 national conference on science education will provide workshops, seminars, and presentations for an anticipated 10,000 science educators — and Science NetLinks will be there! So stop by booth #535, say hi, and pick up some new resources.
