Winning Essays from the 2009 AAAS/Subaru Essay Writing Competition for K-12 Educators
The five winners of the 2009 AAAS/Subaru Essay Writing Competition for K-12 Educators were honored in February at the AAAS Annual Meeting in Chicago. The award spotlights teachers who share their knowledge on designing science lesson plans and integrating technology into the classroom. The selected essays include lessons using waves and surfing conditions to teach physics, a class teaming with a college to create PSAs about a local ecosystem, and studying the physical science of music and sound vibrations.
