![]() Immune Attack is a new 3-D game from the Federation of American Scientists that allows players to get an inside look at the human immune system. The game scenario focuses on a young woman whose immune system does not work. Players pilot a nanobot inside her bloodstream to turn her non-functioning immune system into a healthy one before the invading germs destroy her. Players will gain a more thorough understanding of the different parts of the circulatory system and the immune system and how the two work together to fight off infection. The Federation of American Scientists is a 63-year-old organization founded by the scientists involved in the Manhattan Project. It provides non-partisan technical analysis on complex global issues that hinge on science and technology. A portion of its focus includes the Learning Technologies Program, which involves developing ways to use technology to improve how people teach and learn. Check out the Science NetLinks Immune Attack Tool for more suggestions on using this game in the classroom.
