Science NetLinks Review Criteria

Science NetLinks' resources support standards-based teaching and learning, and are reviewed by the Science NetLinks Board of Reviewing Editors according to the following criteria:

  • Does the resource contain credible science, mathematics, or technology (SMT) content from a credible source?

  • Is the information accurate?

  • Is the purpose clear?

  • Is the material well organized?

  • Are the processes of science clearly and accurately presented?

  • Are the conclusions, if any, valid?

  • Is the science content consistent with current scientific knowledge?

  • Is science shown to be open to inquiry and free of dogma?

  • Does the resource contain information that complements the SMT education curriculum as informed by research projects such as Project 2061 or the National Science Education Standards?

  • Is the content compatible with the overall mission of the AAAS Directorate for Education and Human Resources?

  • Is there sufficient SMT content to make the site a useful resource for teachers, parents, librarians, community science educators, or other stakeholders in SMT education?
