Go to Colors, Colors? from the Neuroscience for Kids site. Here you will do an activity that involves the “Stroop Effect,” a brainteaser of sorts.

First read the text explanation of the “Stroop Effect” at the top of the page. Then, test yourself to see how quickly you can name the color of each word.

Now click on and do the Interactive Stroop Effect Experiment. Read the instructions on the page before doing the first test.

 

Once you finish the experiment, wait for your teacher’s instructions.

 

Now go to and read Pain and Why It Hurts. You should read just the first yellow box of text on the page.

Go to Probe the Brain on the PBS site. You should read that page. Then click on and do the activity.
